Do using walkthroughs make you less of a gamer?

I'm just wondering. Ever since I was young, I only played 2d side scrollers.

I was never good at Silent Hill in pathfinding (thanks to Tips and Tricks magazines, I survived and finished the game) and definitely need a video walkthrough to win Dark Souls.

As for my strengths, i can memorize attack patterns and some skills suited for straightforward reflex/action games. I think i'm pretty good doing that, too.

Does using a strategy guide make me more 'casual' than most gamers?
